New forum updates and added mods

Since my wife and kids are out of town until tomorrow night, I actually have an entire evening to myself, where I can get some work done without interuption. At first I thought about throwing a party, or just sitting around all night watching the Playboy channel, but decided to spend it here getting some much-needed maintenance and upgrades done. Therefore, I'm going to be giving the forum software a needed security update, plus will be adding some new cool features.

One new feature I just got done adding is a new way of sorting the memberlist. When we only had a small number of members, it wasn't too much trouble to find a certain member. However, now with the number we have, it's getting more and more tedious to wade through the list, so I've incorporated this new mod. It will allow you to sort the list by first letter (or number) of the username. Go ahead and open the Memberlist and check it out.

I'll be adding a few more features later this evening too. Therefore, if you happen to log on and get an error message, please be patient with me, it probably means I'm in the middle of doing some modification to the forum code and things will be back to normal very shortly.

how about by what state there in? i somtimes see members only have what city there in.

You can already do that....sort by Location (in the dropdown menu). That's one of the reasons I've been so adamant about folks putting their location in backwards (State, City) so that it's easy to find members in your area.

OK, just added another small perk. In the upper right-hand corner of the forum's front page, you'll see a link that says "View Posts Since Last Visit". However, now there's a number next to it...to show you just how MANY posts were made since your last visit.

Added another one. Now you can see how many people are viewing each forum from the index page. Right next to the forum title it will tell you that there are "3 viewing"...or however many users are there.

It seems I DO have to troubleshoot a little on this one though....for some reason, the 4x4 forum is showing 39 viewers at the moment, when there's actually nobody there!

One quick question, is there a way to leave the new message alert yellow if I leave and come back. In other words, If I check in and don't get to read all of the new posts then log out, when I return the new message alerts aren't yellow anymore and I'm not sure what I missed. The updates you have made are great and I don't want you take my idea the wrong way. Sometimes the demeanor of a sentence is lost while just reading text. I don't want to be mistaken as being critical.
