My condenser has 2 tubes connecting eachother on one side then every three on the other so sounds like the older style. I'll just see what I get with it charged properly when I have the cash then maybe if it's not satisfactory I'll try a condenser upgrade. Also I have a 10in pusher fan i was going to mount on the front of everything to chill things a little in stop and go traffic and idling. Try one thing at a time and see if I get any improvment. Prob be done by winter.

Hey,thanks for the comps Mercman....I just had the unit charged up today....Since it's an old add-on,there's several hoseclamp type connectors which are more prone to leak...Recharging it got me through last summer,but I needed about a pound and a half to get the proper reading...Fortunately,I have a buddy that does it for me for the freon cost...Anyway,it's blowing out nice and cool but still poor circulation(kinda like my own bloodflow )...I'll check the current,and anything else that may look amiss....

Seems like a good deal and I'm going to add the 10in pusher fan to that and have a shop here in town look it over and charge it that is from what I heard pretty reputable. I'm also pondering the thought of adding vents like I saw in another post for a truck that was for sale. They had the vents mounted in the dash bezel on the sides. I figure one on each side of the bezel and one in the empty area next to the glove box door. and it blew alot better than trying to put it through the square vents I have that came with my kit. I bought one just to see if I liked them... well got it for fathers day. and I think they'll look pretty nice and be functional. I snapped some pics just holding it up with my hand, so opinions on if I should take this route or not would be appreciated.

Ok I got the one vent mounted today, thought I had it centered perfect but I never fail myself it was off a bit but still looks pretty decent and the airflow is alot better and gets to the back seat. So I'll be ordering another for sure and maybe finding a square one around the same style for the passenger side of the glove box door.

That looks like it should've been put there by Ford. I think you should use the same vent on the right side of the dash. Very good piece.

Thanks, Yeah I need to get another one on the way for the right side of the bezel. It had to be shaved down on the back side so that it screwed together somewhat flat because the bezel is rounded. Dremel tools are the best. along with the 2.5in hole bit I picked up.

Just an update to the A/C issue I added the parallel flow condenser yesterday and my uncle bought some new gauges and vacume pump so I had him do the whole thing and with the truck sitting there at idle it was pumping out cool air in the teens and low 20's. So the only issue left to tackle is putting 2 more of the round vents in to get the air flowing around the cab. I'll probably find a rear unit for the back someday out of a junked vehicle when I decide on what newer style seats I want to put in. I am thrilled that it's working well in the LV heat. your just around the corner from, i am in Rowlett. I have a 69 F100 that the a/c is aftermarket but doesn't work. I may be calling on your when i get to working on it.

I like those vents you installed 460Crew. Those will look good when you get them all installed and it will be a lot cooler afterwards. making use of wasted space in the dash.

Well, this heat wave out here in California is expensive. I just ordered a Hypercool1 complete heat and air unit from Rainbow Products, a link I first saw somewhere on this forum. I suspect that by the time it arrives and I clear a weekend to iinstall it, it will be winter

I changed my factory a/c over to 134 and it cools fine. It won't put frost on the windsheild or anything, but I dove it today and it was 107 degrees and I was comfortable.

They will have to evacuate the system and refill it with the Freezone. I don't think there is any hardware conversion required. At least that's what I gathered from the website.
