Ok guys, just bought a 72 F-100, and it seems like the pedal bushings are a bit worn out, because when I'm pushing both the brake and clutch, the pedals wobble a bit.
Also, is there a rebuild kit, or a place to buy the individual bushings for the column shift 3 speed linkage?? Or an adjustment I can try for the existing linkage first? This linkage is kind of hit-or-miss right now; VAGUE doesn't even begin to describe it, you really have to 'feel' the shifter up into gear.
Lastly, does the steering box have an adjustment to take slack out of it? When the wheel is dead straight, there is a bit of play, or deadness right on center. The wheel seems loose there; there just isn't any road feel on-center.
Thanks guys, it looks like this is going to be a fun little pickup.

As far as play in your steering check your tie rod ends. And check the rag joint at the end of the steering column that connects your shaft and column. Usually those are the places where play starts...

re: Pedal Bushings Source??? And Shift Linkage Bushings???
We're discussing the pedal bushings issue now on the Suspension/Steering/Brakes forum at: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=12862
I have the same issue on my 67. Matter of fact, when I push in the clutch the whole unit wobbles enough to flash on the brakes lights. This really wakes up the guy tailgating me when the light has turned green. My pedal shaft is actually very worn so I'm either going to replace it with a good junkyard piece or go the bearing route suggested in the referenced discussion.
