bucket seats

I found some bucket seats from a mid to late 60's mustang.I was wondering if they are the same as the original bucket seats for a f-100.Will they work?

I think they are the same, minus the brackets. Will they work? Enough money and time and anything will work.

The seats will work. However finding the correct brackets to fit our trucks is borderline on the unobtainum side.

i personally love the low back buckets the old mustangs had. if anything just make a track for them, you dont HAVE to have them slideable do you? our trucks arent exactly large inside with the huge steering wheel and all. a 1/4 inch plate and some thinking will get them mounted...i put some accord seats in my mazda like that, just beat the hell outta some 1/4 inch till it fit my floor, and made the brackets seat side match those and bolted them down, unadjustable.

You can use two sets of bench seat sliders if you don't mind the adjuster being on the middle side of the passenger seat.

I believe National Parts Depot has the tracks to put buckets in our trucks.

I put a pair of bucket seats out of a Jeep Cherokee in my truck. Like SmokeyBear said, I just used the seat sliders out of my truck's bench seat plus another pair from a donor truck to mount my Jeep seats.

Here are some shots of it. The close up of the mounted seat has a couple spacers under it because I was mocking it up. For the finished product, I just welded a piece in and used some touch up paint to make it pretty. However, in the close up shot, you can see how the Jeep seats are just bolted to the Ford sliders.

what about fabbing it up in a way that you could use the bench track have acenter console bolt btween the seats and still be adjustable seating?

I've thought about that a few times myself. However, you have to keep in mind that you'd basically have a bucket seat frame on top of the bench seat frame. It would work, but the seat would sit too high, unless you could find a way of mounting the bucket seat down inside the bench-seat frame. I have no idea what the measurements on each are, so it's possible it would work easily, but I'm guessing you'd have to do some reworking of one or both of the frames (bucket and bench) to keep the seat from sitting too high.
