Bed floor part 2

Here are some pics of what I am working on.
The bed is getting the floor moved up 4 1/2" to clear the fuel tank and the cross member, then I will fab some mounts to bolt the bed down once and for all. The air system is almost done but I still have to make two 6x6x30 square tanks, the reason I am making them square is because the round tanks are 8" tall and will rub on my wheels. After this is all done I will start working on some custom scissor hinges for the hood and after that's done the truck should be all put together and ready for disassembly so that I can start paint the frame and under the cab and bed.I took some pictures of the day that I drove the truck home from the shop but the pictures were taken at night so you won't be able to see any detail. The tank is 24x29x10 it came out to be 30 gallons.

This was done friday night 7-28-06, I decided to remove the entire floor and do a smooth floor out of new sheet metal with some compartments for storage.

Is the top chopped on the cab...or is that just the angle?

It's not chopped yet it's just the angle, I can't decide how much to go on it
my friends at the shop say that it should be at least 3" but it seems like to much what do you guys think?

What year Lincoln did you use and I guess you are using the Lincoln lug pattern since you changed the front also.

that's a 89 lsc 5.0 lincoln same bolt pattern as a 95 mustang

Oh ok. Thanks. I hate that there is not another vehicle with teh same lug pattern as the truck pattern. I ahve a couple Lincoln rears laying around but the pattern is different. Guess I will have to do a little engineering to make one of them work.

What are you trying to do? are you going to get a M2 setup for your truck.

i plan on selling mine i think, unless i hit the jackpot. i plan on buying a beetle and chopping, dropping, gutting, glassing, and extending it. front wheels extended 8 inches or 10, depending, and some ford wires all around, im going to run fenders, but not full fenders, more like a bike fender just around the tires themselves.

looks like your rubiing the ground there is that as close as it will be when done?

What happened to the old bed floor what shape was it in reusable maybe?

Hope you don't get heavier or have an overwieght frind rid with you.

And yeah 2" if you short enough to still fit in there comfortably does sound better than three.

hes got air suspension, its adjustable front and back both. lay it out to show it, and drag, pop it up a few inches to roll around and drive. fat friends = more pressure on the right side.

Don't do an more than 1.5 to 2". I've seen this body style chopped before and it just doesn't look right. The drop looks great!
