I went to pull-a-part this morning any bought a heater box with the correct brackets for mounting the control cables.
The bottom/black heater box was one that a friend gave me, it was from a 67 F100. The top/unpainted box came off a 69.
The 67 has one bracket, and no trace of ever having had a second bracket. I am sure I would have noticed welding marks, being glued or riveted if it was there before painting this. Also, notice that it looks like the 69's right side bracket, but moved over. It does have 3 little ribs where a second bracket could be located
I am pretty sure the 67 box must be off a truck with the economy heater. Or maybe it is some other 67 variation.

re: Heater box differences
Thanks for posting those pics, Tim. That's the first time I've actually seen an Economy heater setup. I don't suppose you have any shots of the front, do you?

re: Heater box differences
I can take some, but it looks pretty much the same. But, could be something different about the front or sides I'm not seeing.
Also, anyone know if those things I called ribs are the little notches where the flapper catches as it is moved from Off/Heat/Defrost?

Great pics, Tim. I've seen a couple of those but didn't have time to get pics of that lever, just the blank area on the dash.
