Is there a tech article on steering...as in where to start looking for wear, and how to adjust, if it can be done? My '69 has power steering, which has a lot of "lost motion" in the center position. Truck tracks straight, which is a blessing, as it's easily an eigth of a turn of lost motion. Front end seems "solid" for whatever that's worth. Steering also has very little if any "self centering" action.
It's a bit interesting to drive and this is definitely on my "fix it soon" list.
Where to start

re: Where to start
The power steering doesn't have much self centering action. Lay under the truck and look at all the steering linkage as your helper rocks the steering wheel back and forth. Look for play in all the tierod ends and look where the pitman shaft comes out of the box for side play. If the pitman shaft bushing is worn it will allow the shaft to rock side to side causing steering play. There is an adjustment on the top of the box just like any other but this seldom helps much.

Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
