Gettin' a little closer to closing the T-shirt deal

Post by FORDification »

I had a meeting today with the t-shirt rep. I showed him the final design and we discussed the various options. He gave me a good idea of what things are gonna cost to get the shirt printed up, but now with all the details he's going to write up a hard quote for me within the next day or two.

The pricing isn't bad at all. Right now it's looking like they're gonna cost you all $13-$15 each and you'll get to choose your size and whether it's got a front pocket. As mentioned before, the color is going to be gray. Sizes available will be Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, 2X and 3X. He told me there would be a 12-15 day turnaround time for delivery. Also, I've decided that the back logo will remain as pictured on the T-SHIRTS PAGE, but the large logo on the front will be shrunk down to a smaller version just above the left breast pocket.

My wife will be the one handling most of the paperwork for this venture. About all we have to do yet is figure out the shipping details (how and how much).

So start setting aside your spare change to get in on this limited-run of FORDification.com t-shirts! I'll be making an announcement sometime within the next week when orders will be taken. I'll set up a separate PayPal account specifically for the t-shirt orders and everyone will have a 30-day time period to place your orders, after which the order will be placed. Stay tuned!

Coooooool 8) Can't wait. Have you thought about printing up the business cards you mentioned once a while back. If you can you should include a few of these to each shirt buyer so that we can leave them under windshield wiper of trucks that should know about fordification.com

Can't wait for the T- shirts. I'm in for at least 2. Just thought I'd throw this out... Had some business cards made for my son this christmas through Vistaprint.com. They offer 250 for free. You need to design them. I had some other stuff done so they cost me money, but, quality is great and shipping is fast. I also want some business cards with the shirt. I'll be glad to market this site :D

Including the business cards with the t-shirts is a great idea. I'll try to make that happen.

Cool, can't wait. 8) Here's a suggestion on shipping. Get a quote to about the farthest place in the contig. US to ship a shirt. Then just add that to the cost and ship with "shipping included." So if the cost of the shirt is $13 and you determine that it's $2.85 to ship to Tweedle Dum USA, maybe charge everyone $15.50 delivered. That way you don't have to get a quote every time an order comes in, while covering all your costs (on average anyway since a few would cost .35 more in the example, but would be made up by other orders close by).
Go buy a pack of those 8.5"x11" manilla envelopes, stick 'em in there and ship 'em off. Also, maybe consider a quantity discount. Buy 2 save $2 or whatever.

Actually, the manilla envelopes is exactly what we were considering using. And with me being smack dab in the very center of the contiguous states, shipping rates to anywhere in the country is going to be very similar. But the one flat-rate shipping quote is a good idea, to save a lot of time. On something this lightweight, those in the Midwest might actually have to pay a few cents more than what the actual shipping would be, but it's going to be a nominal amount.....as you stated, less than a buck.

EDIT: Hey, this is post #2700 for me!

As a matter of fact, all that remains is for me to get a separate account set up at the bank for the t-shirt payments, so I can keep everything separate from my Ford stuff. I was planning on doing that today but got tied up at work and didn't get out of there until after the bank was closed. I'm hoping to get this taken care of tomorrow.
