How do you remove the &%$# Auto Shift Lever?
I have tried everything to get that stupid hollow pin out of the shift collar to no avail. I want to change my Black shift lever for a chrome one I got and I do not want to destroy my shift collar.

I know what you mean, they can really be a major PIA to remove. I've only tried to remove one that wasn't already boogered up, and I ended up destroying the shift collar in the process....and STILL never got it out. Good luck....maybe somebody else has had more sucess with this.

Sounds like fun, maybe I'll have the body shop booger it up for me, at least they'd be responsible for the damage instead of me feeling stupid for causing the damage.

I usually just use a hammer and a drive pin punch I have had pretty good success with this method but I think I like the c clamp idea better

Although slightly different what about the cap at the end of the lever say to add a custom skull head one?

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

The cap on the end column is only plastic, vise grips and some twisting will remove the end pretty easily. Then some epoxy for the new end has always yielded good results for me.

As for the whole rod I've always put the lever down in first ( so you're not fighting keeping it in park) and use a roll pin driver and tap the roll pin out. Easy as that, but maybe yours is boogered up on one of the ends??
