sound deadening, dual cone speakers

Post by Jerry1256 »

Ok, Ive purchased a replacement aftermarket carpet fo my 1968 mercury 250 (Canadian Ford) and was wondering what the best material to put under it? I see BOTP sells stuff by the roll, has anyone used this?
On to the next subject, I want to keep the original push buttom AM radio but the truck came with the single speaker mounted mid dash. has anyone used the Dual cone speakers offered through JC Whitney. It supposed to simulate stereo sound. And they fit in the same space as the regular factory speaker. It is only around $45.00. I refuse to cut holes in door panels!

Thanks guys
Oh..one more thing, whats your take on painting the frame with bedliner???
driving a 1968 Mercury Camper Special that needs a lil facelift

well if the speaker fit,s without cutting go for it, as far as bedliner on frame to each his own I just did my box on the bottom total thing up into the wheel wells along the inner sides along the two body seams complete with the SEM's bed liner BTY nice product, I belive this will give many yrs of rust free protection.
