Hello all,
I have a 3-on-tree f100 Custom, I-6, with no power steering or breaks.
I really like my truck & want to keep the I-6 & 3 speed. However, how much would it cost to convert the to Power Steering? What Would I have to change/buy? How hard is it to do?
(After I do that, I would like to get a nicer steering wheel & possibly 3-speed on the floor)
Anybody have any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advanced!
Tony

Well Tony, It seems we got just the thing for you.
Point your browser over to:
http://www.fordification.com/powersteering.htm (2 wheel drive)
or
http://www.fordification.com/powersteering4wd.htm (4 wheel drive)
When you get done there there is always:
http://www.fordification.com/discbrakes01.htm
If for some reason those don't work just go to the home page and look in technical papers.
EDIT, oh yeah, as for the cost, it of course depends on where or how you obtain the parts, but if thers a pull a part around you, I'd bet everything could be had for 75.00-100.00.
HTH

re: Power Steering cost$$
keep your eyes peeled, you never know where you'll run across a steal.
i recently picked up a truck with all the p/s parts, and disk brakes, for fifty five dollars. and i have the motor and tranny too. only thing not there are the front fenders and grill.

Well, there's the poorman's power steering... run skinny front tires.
I actually like the 3 on the tree. When it got real sloppy, I tried a few things to fix it like changing out grommets and linkages, Then finally, I gave up and got a Hurst universal shifter on the floor.
