temp gauge doesnt work?

Post by 72hurricane88 »

Hey guys, i'm new here..Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the temp gauge in an F100?? My 72's gauge doesnt work...I swapped instrument panels with a buddy and it still dont work. Any ideas on whats going on?

Also, the dash lights dont work. I've replaced the bulbs but still nothing. The alternator light comes on but I haven't had any problems out of the alternator.

after you have checked the fuses and wiring connections i would replace the sending unit on the engine and possibly the light switch.

your sending bulb is probably shot. i would go buy a aftermarket guage and mount it under the dash like mine and that way you know how many degrees you are actually running. i have pics in my gallery

I would definetly look at the sender I've had one go bad on two different motors. They're inexpensive and super easy to change.
