I have a 1968 f100 and it didnt come with a rear view mirror. The truck is a custom cab. What type mirror came stock on the truck? Was it the type that mounts on the glass or the type that bolts in with the visors?

re: rear view mirror question
Should be 1st year for the glue-on mirror. It is a unique one for '68, the mirror is smaller, the day-night lever swings back and forth instead of in and out, both the ball joints have screws to tighten them up plus the whole thing is chrome. The later ones have a bigger mirror with a black housing, different day-night lever plus swagged joints. The ball joints on my '68 never tightened up enough and when it finally fell off the windshield I replaced it with one off a '71.

Thanks for the info! I appreciate it .
Although on some I have looked at they mount in with the sunvisor in the roof... wouldnt it be possible to use one like that.. would it line up where the other sunvisor center piece went.?
