You should have been at my moving sale morg. I gave away a running 76 Camper special with a 460. No bed or rear end but the rest was there. I left and early Bronco 9 inch with 4.11s, a super straight 59 Edsel wagon, an 83 Subaru wagon full of Subaru parts, a Chevy van full of SBC parts, and lots of other stuff. Just left it all on the property. My deal with my neighbor who bought the place was take what I wanted and he would clean up the rest.
And the stuff I gave away. I gave one guy about 40 coffee cans full of bolts and stuff. Like two cans just full of brake hardware. I gave away boxes of pipe fittings, boxes of door locksets and hardware, boxes of electrical stuff for household. Probably 3 rolls of 12/2 with ground grey romex. I probably gave away 40 shovels and other various implements of destruction. an almost new roof rake and a push scoop, thermal pane windows, snowmobiles, several 350 Chevy engines from when I was racinf stock cars. You name it.
All I saved in the 72 was a new door skin, a nice original fender, my Revereware and my riding gear.
I came within about an inch of giving the 72 to the lady's kid who has the truck stored when he turned 16 last summer. I really like the kid and he had built himself a hobby stock car, needed something to tow it with. But I called his mom and he had just scored a pickup from someone else. His stepdad had got busted for molesting some little girls and got sent to prison forever. All the guys at the track chipped in and helped the kid get his car finished so he could race and someone else had given him a truck. If I ever do get rid of it I will probably let Dave Tiegen in Willow part it out and send it to the crusher, I don't want to see it running around all clapped out. The cab and the bed are real rusted out now.

Got 'er done (almost. I still need to mount the washer tank and the steering cooler). I spent half the day trying to get the horn working and some other dumb thing. I had this scraping kind of noise when I turned the wheel, sounded like right under the steering wheel where that spring is. I had it apart several times. I went out and drove it to get some gas, really annoying. So I get back and pull the wheel again, can't see anything so I thought I would look under the hood. DUH! the brake lines were touching the rag joint. So now everything is right(almost) the steerng box is just barely notible too tight in the middle with just a bit much slack right there. Wore out I suppose and the last guy over tightened the adjuster. I hope this is the last one of these I have to do. Oh I didn't mention the horn consuming a couple hours, turns out I didn't realize it takes 2 horn contacts and I ended up having to make the one that goes under the horn ring out of a ball point pen spring and a brass screw. Can you imagine what it would cost to pay a shop to do this stuff. Uh, yeah 150 bucks to make a horn contact 'cuz you was missing one.

I want to be like Mr.T, he could find an old stripped out bus in a gravel pit, make a lot of sparks with a cutting torch, then it would run.
