Round gauge question
Do you have to change out the appropriate sending units (oil, gas, temp) when you install round gauges from a medium duty truck? Is the speedo correct or do you need to change out the transmission gear? If so, where is the best place to get the parts?

Are you saying that you were able to just plug and play with these? If so, that is great!CJ,s 67 F100 wrote:My F600 dash hooked right up to all gauge wiring and the speedo hooked up to the cable without any problems. I used the old wiring harness off the F100 dash
I believe that the post regrding the sending unit may be in reference to using a non-factory gauge.

Those tachs are mechanical drive, meaning they're driven off the distributor. You'd have to find an expensive aftermarket mechanical-drive distributor to use it. The FT mechanical-drive distributors won't fit into an FE engine without some machine work, but considering the expense involved with trying to hook up that 4000-rpm tach you'd be much better off just replacing it with a similar-looking aftermarket electric tach.

re: Round gauge question
I made that at work, it is specific to that AutoMeter gauge. If time wasn't such an issue I'd offer to make one. My boss is going away next week so maybe...??? I didn't forget about the clamps for you either, mrnicks. Here is the print I drew up for the bezel.
