AC install

Post by rboeding »

I hope someone here has the information I need. I am putting a factory AC in my 77. I have everthing figured out and installed except two wires. Under the dash there are 3 wires that come through the middle of the blower box. One goes to the compressor clutch and I think one goes to the original heater blower connector on the wiring harness but where does the other go? The one to the blower connection is not the correct type of connector so I guess I have to make a change there. The left over one is a little short but maybe it is intended to go to the carb? Anyone have any ideas or poctures? Thanks.

No the ground wire I figured out. There is a large round spade on it and I still have two wires left over.

Guessing here- I think the carb might be correct. Many AC installations have a small throttle positioning solenoid that kicks up the idle to compensate for the increased load on the engine.

That typed, I'm assuming it's not the wire to the compressor, right?

No the wire to the compressor is prety obvious. It is long and plugs right in. I just have the two wires left that I don't know where to plug. I will take some pictures of it tommorow and put them in if I can.
