Two Different 67 Front Ends???

Post by FoMoCo »

I went to two differrent auto part stores this past saturday to buy complete new everything between the spindles. I think there's only 3 parts. Both places asked what the last 6 numbers of my VIN were. I tried telling them, there there are no "last six numbers". Any Ideas what this is all about?

They want the last six digits of the vin - in the truck's case, the letter and the 5 numbers. Ford switched parts a lot by a vin cutoff point rather than the model year cutoff. The VIN data pages that Keith has posted on the site show the (approximate) vin ranges by month of production.

nick,

for all practicall puposes they're asking you if your truck is a '67 or a '68.

if your V.I.N. is F10xxB81999 or lower you'll get '67 stuff. higher and you can ask for '68-'72.
