dash knobs

Post by todd67 »

to the left of the column are the wipers ignition switch and headlights, to the right of the column are choke and the lighter. but i've got a hole in the dash for another knob between the choke and the column and i don't know what was supposed to be there. i've got a 67 250 custom. any ideas?

The hazard light switch was mounted in the glovebox for the '67s. The extra hole would have been for a cargo light. The same dash was used for all trucks, so the hole that would normally have been used for the cargo light switch would have been covered with a chrome plug.

Heck, my '67 didn't have a cargo light, and it STILL had a cargo light switch mounted there! :hmm:

thanks for the help. there is a mark in the paint where there was a bezel and due to the previous owners use of the truck, it would explain why the cargo lamp was removed.

The in-dash hazard switches weren't used until '70, so if yours has one, it's had some replacement parts by a previous owner. He probably installed a '70-up harness and then added the switches. There should be a small white ribbon in several places on the harness, which will have a part number. See what the first two digits of the harness is....and maybe see if it appears as if the later switch was adapted to the early harness. If it's a '67 harness, the PN will start out 'C7'.

This is kind of late, but I have a '67 F-250 CC also, and where your hole is, is my manual choke.
