Dash knob removal

Post by F250MudPatrol »

How in the heck do the dash knobs come out? Lights, wiper, etc.? I need to paint the dash but I cant do the sanding and painting very easily around these things.

On the head lights there is a button on the switch behind the dash you push it and pull the knob and shaft out. As far as the others i would think that the knob screws off of the shaft. They make special sockets to remove the bezels that hold them on. But you can also use a good set of external ring pliers or file down the nose of a 90 degree needle nose pliers to fit and back them off.

I also have the same problem-the cargo light knob screwed off, but none of the other ones seem to, like the choke cable knob or the wiper knob. Anyone else have this problem, or additional info?

the wipers have a allen head screw on it. the headlights come off by pushing the button under the dash on top of the light switch. the lighter unscrews from the back and the nut for the choke cable behing the dash.
