Instrument cluster refurb question

Post by 69rangerman »

I dis-assembled the cluster to turn back the odo for my new motor (don't worry, I took pictures of actual reading in case of future sale) and decided to mask off and paint the trim areas that used to be chrome. Unfortunately I used what I had (alum. for engine area) and it ended up looking like primer.
Since I'm going to do it again can anyone recommend a paint that will be closer to silver/chrome?

Thanks,
Tom

Argent/silver they also have a chrome like bumper paint. As well as a plastics/metal paint in chrome color. I think its rustoleum.

Thanks. The rattle can job actually worked out pretty nicely. This time around I'll take a little more time. I just used plain old masking tape and a razor blade to trim out. I'll take a couple of pics before and after.

Have to remove it anyway cause I forgot to put the black backing plate on when I re-assembled.
