door seals... i need pics

Post by ezernut9mm »

can anyone get some pics of their door weather stripping at the bottom? i would like to see what it looks like around the rocker plates or sill plates, you know-at the bottom. up and around the top and sides is pretty self explanitory, but i'm not sure how it should go around the bottom at the sill plates. thanks-chris

Here's are a couple of photos of the way I did mine. They flatten out under the sill and you poke the screws through.

I replaced my weather stripping a few months ago, and now my door doesn't want to shut, unless I slam it. Is this normal? I was told that this is normal for a couples days, as the rubber is still hard. However, the door is still hard to close. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks,

You might have to slightly adjust the doors to get them to shut right. Just don't adjust too much or you'll have to adjust back when the the rubber forms up. As for reusing the seals, I would think for the cost it would better to just use new ones than fight a bad fit later on. IMO

i hear what your saying. i'll have to see how they come off when the time comes, but for the price your probably right about getting new. plus lmc is about 20 mins away so i can just roll on down there and pick them up.
