OK I have been reading a lot of past post from nearly a year ago, I can not find an update to a solution.
My 71 xlt has fairly nice door panels with the exception of the chrome mylar trim, How does the metal foil tape work ? or how about the hobby tape? Or does anyone have other solutions or perhaps a great set of red 71 xlt panels sitting around? Please Help

May not be talking about the same thing here...but I took the interior trim off my Dad's 80 F100 and used a Silver paint pen to re-do, then sprayed it with a Dupont (i think) clearcoat finish. After it dried completely (had to re-do one due to tackiness) I put it back on and it looked sweet. I ended up taking out his dash, scrubbing it clean and restenciled the trim with the paint pen. The pen by itself seemed to retain a small level of tackiness though...so I would use the clear coat as well.
