1969 F250 Camper Special floor

Post by airjetmech »

Pulled the carpet out of my truck today getting it ready for paint and thought I would share some pictures. I have read alot of posts regarding rusted out floorboards, repairs etc. that it was a welcome relief to find this. Looks like it really pays off to find a southern California truck. :D

Yeah they do look better than the outsides of most trucks that is for sure haha. I wish mine looked that nice. I have some spots rusted through but very small. Then again who knows what is hiding under the black spray paint on them.

Mine looked like swiss cheese after I got through with the sandblaster. A little patching and some Herculiner, good as used!

That's unbelievable that you had carpet in your truck and the floors looked like that! The only trucks around my area that the floors have survived in are ones with the factory mats or nothing at all.

One of the reasons I pulled the carpet was because it was wet and was getting this fuzzy white stuff on it. Moving it from its life of dry climate in California to our constant wet in British Columbia was probably a real shock  . I was expecting a mess when I removed it but was very happy with what I found :D :D :D . Now I just have a s**t load of screw holes to fill on the bed rails, 49 to be exact, where the last owner screwed the bed rail protectors on, to protect them?? :x

Now those are some nice floor boards. Mine are nice and solid, but nothing like that.

Wow! It may have been bad to take that truck out of california. You better take care of it. I'll bet my '96 doesn't look that good.
