So I did the weatherstrip and windows yesterday

Post by DMikeM »

Man that's nice! :D

My truck is a '70 F250 XLT and I think I just removed the original rubber from it's channels.
It's so quiet and comfy now I just want to get a sleeping bag and take a nap in the cab. I guess the next fix up will either be the floor mat or the door panels with new handles.
I thought I would never get that glue off my fingers.

it shouldn't take very long to do. you can get the rolls of the stuff almost any place that sells aftermarket parts. you might even be able to get it from the parts store. i know you used to be able to get it there.

Hey foggy... where is it that you are talking about that does the rubber inserts? I live in south tulsa, and work downtown. I've been looking to get new seals.

Let me know, thanks!

I got the Door kit from JCWhitney and the window kit from buycarwheels.com Took 3 days shipping each. The installation took 3 hours on the first door but the old window channels were stuck real good. The second door might have took an hour to do. I also greased the window crank channels and replaced the lock arm retainer clips.
It's so quiet and tight now. My ears even get stuffed when I pull the doors closed if all the windows are closed.

Actually before I replaced all the rubber I would get fumes. Now they are gone.
