how do you remove stubborn mounts

Post by F-100Ranger »

I can't get the front rubber cab-mount bushings off the frame. Do I just cut them off or is there a trick to saving them to reuse?

Can anybody recomment a brand and supply house for replacements. Ditto for rear leaf spring & shacle bushings? Do I need to look for extra bushings if I have the flex-o-matics?

thanks guys

They have an odd interlocking washer arrangement. It appears that 30 some odd years ago before rust and abuse they could be turned to align the tabs with slots and release.

I had to drill the center tubes out of the washers to get mine off.

Dennis Carpenter has replacements, although they are not exactly like the ones that come off.

Best of luck.
