battery hold down ???

did our battery holddowns (the piece across the top of the battery) come from the factory rubber dipped?
wanting to buy a mercury tailgate!

Yes.

Dennis Carpenter has a plastic one that works well. It is dimensionally the same as the metal one, unlike the later plastic one.

thanks for the response. i have mine out and it had corrosion starting under the rubberizing so i cut it all off and cleaned it the best i could. i hit it with some rust converter and am going to redip it and see if it holds out. it is still 95% so i want to keep using it if it will last.
