how can i tell if a harness came from a 6 cyl engine or a v8? this is from about a 75-79 truck.

I want to say there isn't a diffrence except maybe lenght. For what ever it's worth painless made a harness for duraspark conversions and they don't sell one for a specific engine, that could be the answer.....the part number is prf-30812

No difference in the 6 or 8 harness. I think there is a difference between the early years and the later year harnesses. Ford added some additional features. Also, most use the blue grommet box.

That is the only difference I have ever known was in the box, color of the grommet. Most of them have the blue, even on a six cylinder.

if you're doing a conversion, the painless 30812 harness will work, no worries blue grommet module works in most applications.

The Module does not care either only the dizzy end is where it matters.
