battery mat.

Post by ezernut9mm »

has anyone had one of these battery mats? they supposedly trap and neutralize battery acid. i have never seen them anywhere but in the lmc catalog. lower left hand corner of link page.

I think with the old style batt. the mat would be a good thing to have the battries today are a no maintance type so the likely hood of acid leaking is not likely as with old ones, seem to seep acid often. jmo.

Right...with today's sealed batteries, it's no longer an issue.

Gotta love the new gel filled batteries. Long lasting and corrosion free. WE sell a good many of those battery mats here at work for the guys who still use the old style batteries.

I run gel batteries in most everything I have. Don't be fooled, maintenance free batteries can still spring a leak! I work at a GM dealership, and we see it all the time on AC Delco batteries.

I put my batteries in a plastic marine battery holder that covers everything but the top.
