There was a guy out of the midwest reproducing the brackets.

I think his name was Jim and his E-Mail was "Tomatos".

I have a set of his brackets and they are nice. He also mentioned he had considered doing the tank cover.

I'll try to find his information, I think he visits the FE Forum a good bit, or at least did...

i got my drivers side bucket and both sets of brackets from a motorhome -truck front, camper back, in a salvage yard.my passenger seat came from an early bronco and is the flip-forward style.they are installed in my 66 and i like them a lot.
the factory rangers with buckets used the falcon console at least up to 66.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

No Console was provided, but obviously lots of room to improvise. One of the Mustang aftermarket advertisers in Mustangs & Fords has what they call a "humphugger" that looks like a natural.

Hey Grant I was in So. Cal for a week and never saw you - you must stay indoors a lot :D

But I sure did see a lot of Bumpside Trucks being used as daily drivers, which was very Kool.

So if someone were to fabricate mounting brackets, would square mild-steel tubing be sufficient, or should something stouter be used?

I have to mount some buckets in my choptop...with a stock bench seat in there, I can wedge my head against the roof, with the headliner removed! I'm probably going to be mounting them solid...that is, no front/back movement. If anyone has some good pics of the brackets they fabricated to mount buckets, I'd be interested in seeing what you did and what you think of them after getting some seat time on them.

I got ahold of Jim via E-Mail.

He has a few reproduction tank covers and seat brackets.

You can E-Mail him from the FE Big Block Forum where his login is "TOMATOES".

I had a good transaction with him, and the Brackets are nice. I don't have the tank cover yet.

It'll be by choice, for two reasons. First, to keep the seats low so I won't have the added height of the tracks. With the roof panel being as low as it is, in order to put my head in the center of the window area I basically have to lower my seat to the point where I'd be looking out across the top of the dash. Unfortunately, I can't even use the stock Ford truck bucket seat brackets, since those will put the seat at a stock ride height, which will be too high.

And second, because it'll just make things easier. There's no sense in adding them if I won't need them....which I won't. With the seats being as low as they'll be, they still won't be back far enough. I'll just have to suffer.

But we'll see how it goes....

i was looking at the buckets in a bronco the other day. they are almost floor mounted with not much space between the floor and seat vinyl. but they fit to a flat floor not like our trucks would. but they did set real low i thought. they were the mustang style seats with bronco type bracketry.

Keith, seats out of a small jap car work well, they are slung low because the roof line in them are usually pretty low. Something from a celica or RX7 or similar work great. I'm 6'4" and I need all the head and legroom I can get so that's what I'm going with.

they are the same seats with different brackets for the bronco. the passenger seat is a flip-forward type with a hinge on the front side.
