Chrome headliner trim

Does anyone know if this is reproduced? I haven't pulled my headliner yet, and to be honest I'm a little afraid to after reading some of the posts here about rust getting up in there. But my chrome trim that holds the headliner in place has a little surface rust on it, and the "button" that holds the headliner up in the middle looks a little brown too.

I guess I could always try and sand the surface rust off the trim and have it re-chromed, but if someone makes it that might be just as easy. Any suggestions?

YOu can try to take a SOS pad to it with some warm water and that will help a lot if it is just surface rust. Regardless it will help it a lot. NO one is reproducing it yet.

Use the item as a search tool. Chrome units come on regularly.

Amazing... short of some of the steering stuff, is that the only part on our trucks NOT being reproduced?

Thanks for the tip on the SOS pad... I'll give that a shot. Hopefully it's just surface and hasn't pitted it too badly.

Thanks, bluef250 ... I've saved it as a search. I'd like to replace with chrome if mine won't come clean, so I'll keep my eyes open.

This works very, very well. I've done it on wheels many times.

you can use ZOOP Seal to seal the chrome to help keep the rust from coming back.

Yeah it does work good. I have cleaned up many sets of wheels myself with it. And as crazy as it sounds it will also work on glass taking overspray off of them. Don't get crazy with it, but it does a great job with glass also.

I believe there are several parts of our truck that aren't being reproduced right now. That might be a good idea for another thread. The most notable of which I'd say is the 1967-1969 Grille.

Yes... thanks. But I'm looking for all chrome if I can find it. If I can't find chrome and mine doesn't come clean, I could always sand and powdercoat what I have.

I'm going to try the SOS pad trick first, though...

also Brasso works well for the same thing. Works very well on stainless too.
