You live in indy? If so use the shop north of the pilot truck shop he is the better of the two shops there.
sweet deal, ive been looking for a cb for my rig. i used to use an old uniden with an 8ft anteanna, i think i was putting out about 9-10 watts.

I finally got up to the shop today, closed of course, but it said you have to be 18 years or older. I am only 17. Think I can still get in? I just want to talk to him about my cb.
Picked up a couple of them on ebay. First one is a Royce 601. Needs a power cord but otherwise it looks great for only $8 shipped. I will probably give it to my brother for his truck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1
The other one may have been a bit more at around $70 but it's also basically new. It's another Royce. This time a 636 NIB. It looks to still have the plastic on the face plate. It hasn't arrived yet but I am hoping it will be as good as it looks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1
My dad had Royce cb's and thought they were good ones. I like the fact that they are vintage for our old trucks. These will be my first cb's and am open to suggestions as to where I should get the antennas and which ones will be best.

The reason you had to give so much for the second one is it has side bands. As far as anttenas a goodd firestick or wilson is hard to beat unless you want a fancy one then its just going to up to your likeing. Just make sure you have the swr's seet before you start using them as you can fry them after some use if not set.
I run a Cobra 24 with a 100 Watt kicker. Been peaked and tuned with a connex and reverb. I run an 8' antenna. When I ran OTR, the only problem I ever had was the antenna was mirror mounted and it had to be leaned forward to keep it from hitting low clearances like overhead shop and warehouse doors.
