390NUT's headlight harness

Post by rubiranch »

Sorry for asking questions that have probably only been asked 3000 times.

I see a lot of members referring to 390NUT's headlight harness, is there a problem with the factory harness or does this serve another purpose?

It puts the lights on a newer style relay system to help with dim lights and voltage drop problems as well.

Sends full battery voltage straight through a relay with properly sized wiring direct to the bulbs. Compared to the undersized factory wiring and long path through the headlight switch, the difference is very noticeable weather you buy one premade or build yer own.

It's a must do mod for any pre '92 ford truck.

Thanks, the headlights on mine are dim but I thought it was just because they are still the factory bulbs, not even holagen.

You still have the original headlights from 1972?! If so, those need to be pulled and studied for the good of science.

Even if you don't get the harness, it's worth the upgrade to Halogen...

I have a headlight (just one) in my '68 C.S. that still has FoMoCo on it. Maybe I should sell it on ebay?!

I had a low mileage '63 Mercury that I recently sold, 3 of the 4 headlights were the factory FoMoCo headlights.
