"Diamond projection headlamps" ?????

Post by two-bit »

Saw these listed on E-bay, was curious if anyone knows anything about them.
Just a random thought, anything has to be better than the old ATLAS beams.

These sound pretty much the same as the H4 conversions (like LMC sells) that allow you to use a more modern housing/replaceable bulb type assembly instead of the sealed beam lights we use today. I think the "Diamond cut" thing is just a trademark.

Is anyone runnin' those new lights from the cover of the LMC catalog? Think they look cool and would work well on the '66 and '71 with the relay rewire obviously.

yeah you would want to throw some relays on it to cause just the lights them self with the stock wiring isn't going to do any good.

relays will even make the old atlas beams a little brighter, because there wont be such a drastic voltage drop thru the factory wiring.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

i have them but they are all 90/100 watters you probably only want a 55/65 set up. it was probably needing replaced anyways but i think the 90/100's cuased my ligh switch to kill over.

Don't think thats what he means. The relays only draw 30milliamps through the headlight switch instead of the 10amps or so from the stock bulbs.

So with that harness and new headlight switch I could run the 90/100 upgrades

i run 100w hellas on the roof of my trucks , they run thru a relay and use only a standard on-off switch so it should not cause any problem with the stock headlight switch.

Correct. The common bosch relays are good for 30 amps. Ideally that would handle 12volts x 30amps = 360watts of power.
