Hidden antenna
I just got a Tune Trapper hidden antenna to replace the stock mast I shaved off. Has anyone used one of these before? How do they perform? I am going to mount it under the dash above the glove box liner. Any insight?

I'm considering shaving mine, too. I hadn't heard of the "tune trapper".
There is so much metal in our trucks, though, I can't imagine not getting good reception. That aside, if you mount it inside the dash, wouldn't you almost be encapsulating it in steel? Is it weatherproof? Maybe you can run it through the firewall and mount it under the hood?

re: Hidden antenna
It is weatherproof and that is a good idea, but the instructions say only 3/4" clearance is needed on ONE side for it to work. We'll see...
