It's an off-the-shelf piece form Boese engineering. It's billet machined and has tabs that hold onto the back of the old hollowed-out panel with machine screws. The tab thing is not terribly elegant, but it does the job. You can see the bent-over tabs around the perrimeter in this shot, especially in the lower left.

I think that is a good deal at 595.00 considering everything it comes with and can do. I am not a big fan of digital, but that setup would be very tempting. Hurry up and get it so we can see it in action.cathynkeith wrote:that dakota digital is next on my list, It has a performance cpu built in, 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

I made this one up pretty quick and for less than $100. But I go by the KISS rule of thumb!

cghstro,
Keith has your trucks wiring diagram posted under "Factory Liturature" section, so between that and the instructions included with your new gauges, you should be able to make your ideas work.

As for puting in a clock i leave that for the clock on my cd/cdr mp3/mwa am/fm Stereo.
The guages i'd go with a chromed up version of the the 67-69 Dash panel and then go with the correct cluster for the exact vintage of my wiring harness.
And white guages with led bulbs.

re: Custom Made Insturment Panel?
Hey guys I made one just about like the Haneline on and then put VDO 6 guage cluster in it. You could put any gauges that you like in it. I used a piece of aluminum and put it in from the front side with just a couple of socket head allen screws. If you are going to put new gauges in ti look at an electric speedo. Most can be programmed easily to compensate for any wheel/tire/gear ratio that you have and might change to. All without taking anything off. I will put pics up when I can get to the truck and take new ones.

re: Custom Made Insturment Panel?
Just finished my "Do it yourself" project. I've got about $150.00 in it. Found the small LED's at a local parts house, gauges from Kragen, bezel from pick n pull. I used 1/8 ABS from Tap Plastics to mount the gauges.
