Fordification............?
I was wondering what the story is behind the name Fordification?
I also wanted to say I really enjoy this site! I wish I was making progress on "ANN" quicker than I am. I've been getting plenty of ideas from here. Thanks to everyone.

When I was first on this site, my wife glanced over my shoulder and thought I was on Fornication.com until she got her glasses.

Keiths Olds site is "OLDSmobility" so it kind goes with it word. Has Ford in it... for cleverness sake

I really have nothing to add to this post, other than I wanted more people to see my new signature, so I thought I'd just post something...anything really...or nothing

re: Fordification............?
Liz basically explained it....
When I started up the Oldsmobile site, I was trying to come up with a single word that was memorable and clever. Oldsmobile used the term "Oldsmobility" in their '59 advertisements, and I really liked it, so I adopted it.
Then when I started up this site, I wanted something similar....something that rolled off the tongue, was easy to remember and clever. I thought about 'fordication' for a while...it was clever, but decided that was a little too risque'. So after playing around with lots of different ideas, I settled on 'fordification'. Since the actual term 'fortified' means to strengthen/enforce/enrich, it seemed to fit well for a site devoted to the restoration of a rusted-out old truck. It just seemed to fit better....and I figured someday I could get more creative and come up with a slogan about getting FORDified.

So then I guess we need to figure out whether we are Fordificators or just plain old Fordicators. One may be illegal in some states.

I'm married too, but being a Fordicator sure sounds like fun. Wonder if I could do that behind her back and not get caught?

Fordication, as described in the Uniform Code of Military Justice, when accompanied by penetration, no matter how slight, constitutes sodomy. The charge is mitigated if the offending party utilized PB-Blaster or generic pentetrating oil during the act.
