Where can I get a full length floor mat?

Post by averagef250 »

I've bought several of the reproduction rubber 67-72 floor mats that most parts houses sell over the last few years. They're OK quality, but they only go from the firewall to the front of the seat.

I had a '72 F-250 camper special ranger XLT a few years ago that had the factory floormat in it and the mat went from the firewall all the way to the gas tank. I tried to remove it, but of coarse, it fell apart.

My dilemma is while installing the 6BT cummins in my '70 I want to beef up the soundproofing for a comfortable ride. I plan to buy the nice ABS molded insulated firewall cover and a quality soundproofing kit for the floorpan. The floorpan kit covers the whole floorpan from the firewall back, but the friggin aftermarket rubber floormats do not. I hate carpet in a truck and would absolutely love to have an exact copy of the nice factory mat that was in the '72 XLT I had.

Is anybody offering a full-length floor mat for our trucks?

I was reading on the "Bumpsides" site where he used a '73 to '79 floor mat and said it had the extra length and the fit was good. Maybe someone else here knows about that.
