To Rag Joint or not ?
I was wondering - Can the rag joint at the end of my steering column in my truck be replaced with a cool looking Borgeson Vibration Reducer? Anyone have any experiece with this please chime in - hate to buy one on a total leap of faith. Thanks

Mine is different then yours (4x4), but a built a slip shaft (intermeadiate shaft) and used U-joints on both ends. I have a yoke on the end of my steering shaft column.
Do you have a link to that one you are talking about. I would like to check it out.

So does anyone have an idea if the Rag Joint cab be replaced with a Vibration Damper?

I don't see why not. if you could replace it with a u joint, the jobby your talking about is not much more than a u joint with polyurethane in it to squelch vibration. or are you speaking of the non u joint peice?
maybe we could take up a collection and buy you one so you could try it out and let us know before we piss off a little chunk of change...???

re: To Rag Joint or not ?
Hmmm....would it even fit? I mean, the end of the column goes right down to the rag joint on most trucks, meaning you'd have to shorten the tube and shaft to fit it in there. I've seen some columns with shorter tubes, where the shaft protrudes more, so I'd think it would be a fairly easy job on those to just cut off the shaft flange and get the shaft splined to fit the Borgeson joint.
Then again, the inline types are only 3-1/2" long. By the time you slid it onto the steering box input shaft there might actually be just enough room to fit...but you'd still have to cut the column shaft flange off and get it splined.
