Power windows, keyless entry
I am going to install power windows and I hope to install a keyless entry system on my '69.
I am planning on getting the power window system from NPD. I am going to get the system custom made for our trucks, rather than the generic system they have.
I was thinking of getting the keyless entry system that LMC Truck sells.
Has any one had any experience with either of these two systems, or do you know of a good system from another vendor?
If anyone has used them or a similar item, I'd appreciate your responses.

I used a 7 channel keyless entry kit from www.commandoalarms.com for my door latches,
power windows and air bag system.
The power windows I made by using some mustang power window motors.

So did you cut off the ends of the regulators when you put in the power windows? Post some pics of the install of it if you don't mind. Like switch location and inside the door panel.marz68 wrote:I used a 7 channel keyless entry kit from www.commandoalarms.com for my door latches,

I would be interested in seeing how you modified the Mustang gear for the truck. I hadn't thought of that.

re: Power windows, keyless entry
Done it, The windows arnt bad, they just take a while to fab brakets with adjustments to get the right hieght. The keyless entry from LMC is very simple...Just mount, clamp onto lock rod and wire....Takes about an hour. The window are a lot more involved, everything needs to be removed, glass wing windows etc. the old channel needs to be removed from the glass and new channel added. Then mount the regulator assymbly. I used the one from the Hoffmann Group / protocal. They also make a switch that mounts were the factory door handle goes, This is a splined switch that you mount the old handle to. Then just move the handle up or down 15 degrees for it to work...it is nice....Still waiting to finish the switches....

Re: re: Power windows, keyless entry
Do you have a link to the place you got your kit from? I tried googling it but came up with everything but that.slamons wrote:Done it, The windows arnt bad, they just take a while to fab brakets with adjustments to get the right hieght. Thanks for the replies!.
It's good to know that someone has used the keyless entry kit and thinks it's OK. I have already disassembled the passenger door I will be using. Both doors are going to get new window runners and seals, etc.
When I install these I will take pics.
I like the way you modified the motors for the power windows.

re: Power windows, keyless entry
I used LMC's Keyless entry system on my 97 Ranger I built for my son to drive, and it was simple to install and it has been working as good as any I have used. I want be needing one on my 71 because I am getting ready to shave the door handles on it, but I am very interested in what you guys have to say about the power window kits.

On my cheby i'm using a viper keyless alarm, with aftermarket lock solenoids. Later i'm going to shave the handles, but not remote door openers. I'm going to use the lift gate button off of a new dodge caravan installed between the bed and the cab as the release switch. I just dont want to accidentally hit the remote in my pocket and have my doors open on their own. Especially here in Oklahomo, the wind will catch your door real easy and wack the car beside you.
