Steering Column
Is there any way to adjust the lenght of the factory steering column on a 70 F-100. Its a bit to far out, any ideas?

re: Steering Column
You mean everything's good and tight, but it just extends farther into the cab than you'd like for comfortable driving?
The only way would be to shorten the column. Or you could go with a steering wheel which doesn't have so much of a dish to it. The column would remain unchanged in length, but the steering wheel would be a couple inches farther away from you.

re: Steering Column
I'd like to keep the original wheel if possible, was hopping that there was a little wiggle room to move the column. I'm 6' tall with 30" legs, so I have a long body. Wich happens to be like a old keg barrel, so you can under stand I need some more room. Even with the seat as far back as it can go I have almost no room. Mechanically its sound, was just hopping to find out if it had any adjustment in and out. Thanks for the imput, being that it does have power steering I may just opt out for the smaller wheel, was hopping to keep the original look.

Well, you can go with an Econoline van steering wheel, I'm pretty sure those are a direct exchange and look very similar, and are almost flat with no dish. However, they do have a slightly larger horn button, and I'm not sure if the smaller truck horn button will interchange.1970FordTK wrote:I'd like to keep the original wheel if possible, was hopping that there was a little wiggle room to move the column. re: Steering Column
Roger that, thanks for the info. On a cool note, my LMC Truck catalog came in today. Just have to figure out wich bank to rob to pay for all the neat stuff in it.
