4-way flasher / wiring issue
Here’s a fun one…..
I started installing new bulbs where needed in my project, I have as follows:
Rear lights on. Rear blinkers work (both). Brake lights work. Front lights on both high, low, and running lights. Front blinkers left and right both work.
Now, when the 4 way button is pushed, I get 3 blinkers. Front passenger, and both rears. Nothing on the driver side front. But as stated above, it works as a blinker…..
Not to worried as I need a blinker more than a 4 4-ways. 75% is a pass still and interesting problem. Bad bulb some how?

4-way button? You got a button? I'm jealous.
Try pushing and pulling the button a bunch of times, one of the contacts is flakey. You could also try spraying it with contact spray if you can find a place where it can get inside.

Heres what ya gotta do. Ck. the circuit from the switch to the
socket. A testlight will do. Then if you got power, make the grounds
good.

The way it works is power from the 4-way flasher goes into the switch. The left-front, right front, and brake lights also go into the switch. When the switch is flipped it connects them all together. See if this post-it makes sense:
And here's a pic of the in-dash button style from a '68 F100.

Yes the glove box toggle is the most common style.

If it's bad, try to find one used. Here or on eBay.jdconnel wrote:If the glove box toggle original then?
It looks nice in there, and I think it says flasher on it.
NPD has them, but they want $191 for them!

Well, I took the switch out. Seems ok, but the back contact plate is falling off.... so it seems I have my answer. Best I can do is get 1 light to flash now. I can prob fit it with enough patience, but if someone has an extra to sell off / part out, PM me.
Thanks,
James

Mustangs, Galaxies, Fairlanes and trucks they were all in the glove box in 67. Even my 68 and 69 F series have them there if installed.
The drivers side front ties to the flasher at connector G it is wire 3a from the flasher and it hooks to wire 3 turn signal front at that connector. Even though this is a 70 diagram the flasher circuit applies.
