8 lug Wheels??
The 67 parts truck I just got has turned out to be a F250. It has 8 lug wheels. (One more thing I didn't notice when I bought it. Had planned on using the slotted aluminum wheels on mine. So much for that idea)
Was an 8 lug pattern standard on the F250s?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to try and sell them. Need to try to get my money back out of this thing. Turned out to not be in the shape I thought it was, or what the guy told me it was...72hiboy4x4 wrote:you should sell those slotted wheels. What do ya think they would be worth in a local sale? The tires have lots of tread left too.

Those appear to be 16.5s. Nothing wrong with them but they continue to wane in popularity as tire choices dwindle.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

16.5's aren't a problem with a variety of tires if you stick with a set of Swampers. lots of choices there. You know now to think about it I should paint me a set of giant white wall mud terrains you know to keep the classic look, or not

Them slotted rims do look good. I like the truck too. If you hold onto it until Nov 2007, I'll come and get it. Of course I don't expect you to, just thought I'd mention it.

What did you pay for it? If the grill and dash are as good as they look, they should be worth $400 or so by themselves.

Re: re: 8 lug Wheels??
I paid $300 but it ended up costing me another $200 and a real scare. I had rented a trailer and didn't get 5 miles before it started swaying real bad. Only going about 40-45 on a straight road but lost control and did a complete 180 and ended up pointed the opposite direction down an embankment. Still amazed that I didn't roll over, loose the truck, trailer or something. I've got a big heavy 21' boat I pull quite a bit and never had that happen. Really scary. Never again. Called a tow truck and had it onb a flat-bed an hour later. $200 for the 80 mile trip...jor wrote:What did you pay for it? The grill is really nice. I even considered using it on my 72, I like the looks of the earlier ones better. No bends or dents and only one tiny stone ding.
The dash you're talking about is not in the 67. I just put that in my 72. Got it from BCooley, one of the forum members who lives an hour or so from here.
I stripped the whole front of the truck off this morning. Hood, inner fender aprons, and and 1 fender have no rust and the other very little compared to mine. Looks like I'm going to swap those with mine which need lots of patching. Also got the power steering box but unfortunately didn't have the pump or brackets so I'll have to hunt those.
Front bumper, valence and radiator support are all good too. I guess I'll hang on to those or look for a buyer. Tailgate is good except that it's got a dent across the upper horizontal bump-out that may be hard to repair. I wanted to use some sections out of the bed but it looks too rusty now that I got it cleaned out. May still be able to cut the cab corners and use to patch mine.
Anyone know what a fair price is for those slotted alum wheels and tires if I run and add in the local advertiser? Thanks
