Shifting In Style!

Post by MadMaxetc »

Well at the MNG in KC I got a plain old blue (well Light Ford Blue) shift knob for a few $$.

I thought it would look cool with the Ford Logo on it so I whipped out my Dremmal and...

Ford Shift Knob

What do you think??

I am going to fill in the letters with White Paint tonight and I will post more pictures then.

I think it kicks ass, and it should look good in the 67 on top of the T-5!

Well yes and no on the freehand. I printed out the Logo on an address label and stuckit on, then used my hand to guide the dremal. So I guess you could say I free-handed it :D

More pictures in a bit. I am about to paint the White on.

Looks good! Maybe go over the white paint with some clear coat (like Testors or something) and it'll keep from rubbing off...

That looks great! I agree with the clear coat over the letters.

I was thinking about that but I don't know how well it will stick. It is as hard as a pool ball (probly the same stuff). I am going to see how it works without it. I can always repaint it and clear coat it latter if needed. The white paint is white model paint so it should do OK.

Since the paint is recessed in the engraved part there shouldn't be much rubbing on it. I think it would hold up pretty well.

Looks good.
