Seems to be a lot of questions . I didn't take any before pics of the seat with the tracking in picture of them laying on the concrete.PO mounted the seat with those and really just redneck fabricated it .It took me a while to figure this out . It had been quite some time since I had driven one for any length of time. I told my wife after about a week of 60miles round trip to work and back , it didn't handle like my '72,didn't have the leg room and was damn un comfortable. This made me start looking , standing with the door open scratching my head I realized the seat bottom tilted toward the front of the truck , the top edge of the seat back was about 4 to 5 inches above the bottom of the back window . HMMMM something ain't right here. Found a set of seat tracks I pulled out of a '68,for god know why at the time but am glad I did now, while roaming
In the picture of the 2 different tracks side by side on the bottom side of the seat , on the seat frame that goes front to back there was a stud pressed into it front and back and attached the seat to the track through hole in blue outline, knocked them all 4 out reamed the wholes out in the seat frame. The bolt/studs on the '68 seat tracks (in red outline) lined up correctly . Remounting the seat in the truck all the holes in the seat tracks lines up with the seat mount bosses in the floor pan .Being that the PO mounted the new style seat with long bolts and fender washers with nuts on the under side of the cab I had no track mount bolts to fit the seat track bosses in the floor pan(actually kinda scary now that I think about it as the seat belt were anchored on the same bolts ). Looking around the garage I found that header bolts with some thick harden washer worked .
Bolted everything back in , seat bottom tilts to rear , and the top edge of seat is now even with the bottom edge of the rear window. The ride and drive was completely as I recalled from '72 leg room as well(I was literally falling forward out of the seat)
I have not looked for any part #'sa on the seat, I for one am not even sure it's is a Ford seat .But with the old style tracks attaching as easy as they did .... anyway I have posted a picture of it as well .
Sorry this was so long (ah come on if it ain't as long as the King James version I didn't post it) but maybe it will give some other ideas of points to measure and what to look for. I noticed but not sure if the pics show it (tracks side by side) the slide that attaches to the seat frame and attaches to the floor mounts are identical in length. Although the floor mounts are noticeably different(silver are the '68 tracks)

The Later Model seat tracks are a beter design and are a little more rigid. I drilled out the 3 or 4 rivits that hold mounting brackets to the tracks.
see here...
Both the method above and mine work great.
