My headlights are going to give me a seizure!
My headlights will start to flicker from time to time. It will begin to happen when i am driving on dirt roads mostly, but it won't stop until i turn the truck off over night. i have gone through and checked the wiring and it looks fine. this has only happened twice in the past year, but i dont think it is something to be taken "lightly"

Sounds like the plugs on the back of the lights themselves might be getting loose or even corroded. I would pull them off and see if they are corroded and at the same time you will be able to tell if they are fitting loose.

If they are doing it at the same time with both lights I would think it is a loose fuse or a bad ground. Check them and maybe even add a new ground. But if you have a good harness I would check and clean all your grounds

Headlight switch is bad.
Well known issue with them. It is a safety feature.

re: My headlights are going to give me a seizure!
Mine are doing the same thing. I remember there was a topic on this not to long ago. I think it was supermike that was asking about a new switch. He got a new one at an auto parts store for around $20-$30. The restoration catalogs get almost $100!! I did a quick search but couldn't find the thread. Maybe someone else has a better memory than I do and could put their in.

I assume you do mean BLINKING, rather than Dimming and brightening.
If it is Blinking, it is most likely the headlight switch.... it can be a bad ground behind the passenger headlight too...
If it is dimming and brightening, it is the points style voltage regulator... Get an electronic voltage regulator if this is the case.
Good luck!
Eric

I was thinking that a bad connection on the ol dimmer switch might do that, a friend of mine had a similar problem with his dodge

Kragen's lists this part number for their headlight switches. They are also known as: Murray's, Checkers, Shucks, or Kragen's of course. You can also order from their website www.partsamerica.com Also this is listed for a 68 F100. I imagine it would work for the rest as well.
