seat belt fastening hardware

Post by dotcentral »

For our trucks, are these the standard bolt heads, or is it an allen wrench or torx/star fasteners? I need to get some hardware, the p.o. removed it all.

I might look for 88-98 (or whatever the range is) GM truck 3-point belts, I'm hearing they can be made to work in our trucks fairly easy. I think those take torx bits, but anyone know for sure?

Is there a pic somewhere?

Earlier trucks used a standard bolt head while later trucks used a torx head, other than that the bolts are the same. I forget what year the change happened.

My '69 has Torx head bolts. I don't know what size they are, though.
They might not be original, I don't know for sure.

67 has standard heads, but it is an odd bolt. (shape is funny)

Tim,
Bolts for '67 seatbelt are about one and 3/4" long with a 1/2" shoulder. Thread is 7/16x20. Head is 13/16. Here's pic....

How'd we get onto 67's?

Anyway the bolt pictured is the early style w/ the standard head, same as my '68.
