headlight harness

Post by LANCE65 »

Can the original harness be removed from the truck and rewired for headlight relays? Actually replacing the wire and terminals. If so where can I get factory terminals? Thanks

even better is Paul(390nut) has a relay based system. but he makes them about ten-20 at a time and when he has time away from work.

or adrianspeeder has a diagram of his setup somewhere.

http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... ght+relays
It has a few different drawings ,one by adrianspeeder and one by clarko and info on where to get a harness simular to the ones 390nut builds or just wait till paul(390nut) cranks up again.Paul has had nothing but great reviews on the ones he has produced for members here on the forum(just sorry I wasn't financially able at the time to get in on it)

Now I know why my ears were burning... :hmm:

Yes, you can remove the original wiring, from just past the switch to the headlights, but you still need the wires from the switch to trigger the relays. (even if they are only a couple inches long to connect to them)

Probably be awhile before I get around to making more, the way work is picking up. If I do start another round, though, it would take me longer to make them, and more patience from the potential buyers because of it (I wont have as much free time available for the rest of the summer)

Paul i think you may need a partner who can build them for you.
