I have a set of those brackets so before I put the bucket seats in my merc I will make a template.I don't know if you could make a set that was close enough to factory to work and look good.Jerry

I don't have time to watch ebay much lately but the brackets do come up on there once in a while. It shouldn't be too hard to make some that would look decent. I made brackets to put 69 Torino GT buckets in my old 69 highboy once. They matched the color of the truck and actually looked better than the puny Mustang seats IMO, and definitely more comfy.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

A guy in Kansas is or was reproducing them. (I got a set)

He was also looking at reproducing the tank cover and I need to contact him about that soon.

Edit: B Cooley, if you want to sell the stang seats let me know (also what year stang they are and Standard or Delux?)

I'm pretty sure bucket seats were first available in the 65-66 F100 Ranger custom cabs, using the corresponding year Mustang seats (red or parchment only) with special brackets, and a vinyl gas tank cover. The optional console was the plastic 65-66 falcon/comet with the falcon-trimmed cover. The floor-pan of the 67-72 trucks is the same as the 65-66's, so you should be able to use the seat brackets from those years, too. Anyone who finds a set should try to make a pattern so others could duplicate them. I've personally parted more of those trucks than I can remember, and picked trim and parts from many fancy ones in bone yards, and I've NEVER come across one with the factory bucket seats. Good hunting!
