Good news and a question
Good news, I found a set of factory buckets and brackets. The seats need total restoration, but it's all there. The question part is that the truck they're in is a '65. Is it the same part, and will it fit? I've heard the cabs are not as wide, but that would seem to impact the bench seats more I would think (unless they are a lot narrower and put the buckets off the center of the steering wheel, but I don' think they're that much narrower).

great find there buddy!
If I am thinking correctly the cabs are about 3" narrower, so that would mean that eachseat would be 1 1/2 inch offset, right? seems doable to me!
if not the go to plan B!
Plan B: Weld'er and Grind'er. make 'er fit!!

Hey Comet ,those seats are cool! I do beleive that they are the same bucket seats you find in 65'-66' Mustangs and vintage Broncos. so all you need to do is pick up a catalog for one of these vehicles and you can order any color you want. Plus they are easy to install. Iv'e done a couple 66' stangs and the seats came out just like new.

Yeah, the foam and upholstery are definitely Mustang. The brackets are unique though. Just don't know if they'll work in my '71.

Guess there's one way to find out, right? Be sure to report back and let us know the outcome. I'd be very interested in your findings.

If the brackets are from a 1965 ford 1/2 ton then they will work in your truck, you have to use the the 2 outside set of holes from your bench seat and then there should be a set of dimples in the floorbaords for the inside bucket seat brackets.I know I tried mine in my 67 merc and they lined up just fine.Jerry

Comet,
great find. Those look good in the truck. I was planning on putting some in mine before my 3 year detour to germany got in the way.
I was planning on putting them n and then putting in a custom built center console with a speaker on each side facing the seats, but tilted up at an angle. Didn't get to try it, so I don't know if the acoustics would have been right or not.
Anyway, good deal on the buckets.

re: Good news and a question
I'm told that if you order replacement floor pans for a 65 or 66, you get 67-72's, supposed very similar. Seems if that's true they should fit.
Former owner of 70 LB SportCustom and a 71 SB SportCustom. Looking for a replacement bump!

re: Good news and a question
Regular cab floors are basically the same from 65-79 and seats are totally interchangeable between them. Seats from 80-96 will also fit if you use the 65-79 seat tracks (they bolt right on, just put two 89 front seats in my crewcab!). The bucket setup is the same from 65-72 (they stopped offereing in 73 for some reason). Hawkrod

Thanks Hawkrod, that's exactly the info I was looking for. I suspected as much, it's just nice to confirm it. I will check them out again next week anyway, because I need to look at some other stuff for my Slick.

WOW, oh wait, I was wrong, they won't work, but since it was my mistake I will be happy to pay for them as soon as you ship them to me. I wouldn't want any hard feeling you understand so I am making this offer out of the goodness of my carmel coated, sugar frosted heart! LOL Excellent find. Last few sets on ePay have been well over $250.00 and I have seen nice ones sell for $450.00!

As Far as the with thing, my 67's gas tank is from a 65 custom cab. Direct bolt up. Not sure if this helps.

Re: re: Good news and a question
, yeah, I figure even if they don't fit, I'll put them in my slick, or sell them and make a nice little profit. The pass. seat is ok, but the driver seat has a huge tear in it. I've done upholstery work before though, so it's just materials for me. Cool thing is they are black with chrome hinge covers, so they already match my interior.Hawkrod wrote:WOW, oh wait, I was wrong, they won't work, but since it was my mistake I will be happy to pay for them as soon as you ship them to me.
