I have the factory am radio (Philco) that came with my 71. It has a yellow wire coming off of it which contains an inline fuse holder.
Question 1: What amp fuse should I use for the yellow wire?
Question 2: Does the radio need to be grounded to the truck?
I hooked it up with a 14 amp fuse for the link and grounded the back of the radio to some metal on the floor to test. I turned on the radio and nothing happened. Could this be just a dead radio?
The previous owner cut out the radio mount tabs to retrofit a modern cd player.

Re: Radio questions
Use a 3 or 4 amp fuse and the bracket screwed to the back of the radio will ground it once installed. If you don't have the bracket, then you can use the threaded hole in the back for a ground wire. Sounds like a dead radio. I have a dead one too.theogre5150 wrote: Question 1: What amp fuse should I use for the yellow wire?

re: Radio questions
Man I hope not. If so, I will have to snag the one out of my grandpaw's F600.
